Atlanta Newborn Photographer | The Moments that Matter

Newborn sessions here in my Atlanta, Georgia natural light studio aren't just about posed photos. While I do include some organic and natural posing on the beanbag, the moments that are most important are the moments between you and your new baby. These moments are pure. They can't be posed. They're what you're going to look at years from now, and when you do: you're going to feel the same overwhelming emotions as you did when the image was captured. That is the point of photography, and the goal I have for every session that I shoot. 

While I appreciate the artistic effort that goes into creating photos of babies with their hands propping up their chin, it's not something I shoot here in the studio. I believe that babies should be captured just as they are. Their tiny little fingers, nose, lips, flaky skin, and pouty sleeping lips. Babies are so beautiful in their own right. I don't distract from that beauty and innocence with heavy props or themes. As a mother of two daughters, my most treasured images are the ones I have with my sweet baby girls in my arms, just as we were in that moment. This is what I provide to clients, because that is what I love. 

I adore the admiration and love emanating from this mother as she takes in every detail and feature of her beautiful baby's face. For those of us who have experienced motherhood, you know what I'm talking about. You can't get over the fact that you made something this beautiful and that this tiny little person is yours. You also can't quite believe after 9 months of waiting, they're finally in your arms. The responsibility is humbling, exciting, and overwhelming all at once. For those who are expecting and haven't experienced motherhood just yet… just you wait. The best is yet to come.

Beauty is in the simple. You won't find me putting newborns into unnatural contorted positions or distracting from their beautiful features and sweet details with heavy props. Instead, you'll find me making my babies cozy and comfortable. I focus on capturing their sweet details: their shock of newborn hair, their little lips, noses, and fingers, and their tiny little toes. I capture what you will want to remember as you leaf through your album when they aren't your tiny baby anymore. 

If you are interested in a session, it is recommended that you reserve during your second trimester to secure your spot. I only accept a limited number of clients per month due to the amount of personalized time and attention each of my clients enjoy. Atlanta Family Photographer | Baby Aevan, 10 days new

While I love naturally posed newborn images as they focus on the tiny details of babies, I firmly believe lifestyle is most important. So many new parents think that they want only posed photos and later regret their choice. Lifestyle is important because it documents this time in your life as a family. It documents your life in real life, as it unfolds. It puts YOU, the parent, into the photos. When your baby isn't so little anymore, you will want to remember how it felt to hold them in your arms. You will want to remember how tiny their little head was cradled in your hands. You will want to remember the joy and contentment you felt as a new little family. And you can do that with photos. I met this little guy at 10 days old. He was just the sweetest little snuggle bug. He was born in a homebirth in the water with Dawning Life Midwifery services. I offer more organic and natural "posed" newborn photos in conjunction with lifestyle. Atlanta Newborn Photographer | Baby Max, 5 days old

I was so excited to see Sydney and Brock again after their maternity session and meet their 5 day old baby Max! Max was born at North Fulton Hospital in Alpharetta, Georgia with the ISIS midwives. They traveled from Marietta for their session, and we spent a couple of hours together. Max was such a good sleeper, super snuggly,  and so adorable! I loved working with this brand new little family to capture the sweet moments that pass by in the blink of an eye.

Norcross Newborn Photographer | Baby Grace

On July 25th, I was at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA for a birth and when I finished documenting the birth of Jansen, I headed over to see Crystal and Philip. The last time I had seen them was during their amazing maternity session, and I was so excited to find out if they'd had a little boy or girl since they were waiting until birth to find out.

Verdict: It's a girl! Grace was so beautiful, and so sweet. Her daddy was absolutely enamored with her, and both of her parents were just in awe of her. I love seeing the emotion and the transformation that couples make when they become new parents. It's hard to describe, but you can see a marked difference in their eyes. That's why I love Fresh 48 photography. Capturing those tiny newborn details that fade so very quickly and the quiet moments with your baby.

Atlanta Baby Photographer | Baby Theo

Krystle and Teddy are so much fun, and I loved their maternity session! I was so excited to work with them again. I headed to the home of Krystle and Teddy to meet their 3 week old son, Theo. Theo is a BIG boy, and his parents are in love! The last time I had seen Krystle and Teddy was at their maternity session, so I was excited to see them both and hear how Theo's birth went. Krystle and Teddy were interested in lifestyle, so I traveled to their home and captured their normal day to day interaction with Theo. Krystle selected a few images to print for a Father's Day gift and as grandparent gifts.

Atlanta Baby Photographer | Baby Ellie, 8 weeks old

I was SO excited to see Amie and Daniel again for their family/Fresh Baby session. Baby Ellie was 8 weeks old when I came, and she was such a doll baby! The last time I had seen Amie and Daniel was at their maternity session, and it was so good to see them and hear about how Ellie's birth went. I love Amie and Daniel's style, and their house feels like an Anthropologie store!

Atlanta Newborn Photographer | Baby Ella, Fresh 48

I headed to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA for Ella's Fresh 48 session. Have you ever seen such a beautiful baby!? I was amazed by her head of hair! Spending time with her parents, Tiffiney and Chee, was a lot of fun and I was able to offer some encouragement to Tiffiney as she navigated breastfeeding. Chee was such an attentive partner and father, and Tiffiney was such a warm and loving mother. The images from Ella's Fresh 48 session are now displayed in her nursery, and also in her baby book. I love when families see the value and importance of documenting their tiny brand new baby … because as parents find out, they change SO fast.
